For the past few months, we've been blessed with Mike Portnoy's
talent and humanity. When Mike agreed to tour with us, it was only
through the end of 2010. We always knew we'd need to find another
solution for 2011 and beyond. And it's time for us to take that next
step.
We know we are not ready to add another permanent member of Avenged
Sevenfold. We don't know if we will ever be. But if we do, it will only
be with someone who is not only a brilliant drummer, but also someone
we've gotten to know well on the road and off, and who you the fans have
had a chance to get to know, and hopefully accept. In other words, in
this family, we take these steps together, band and our extended fan
family.
We are lucky to be surrounded by so many friends, many of whom knew
Jimmy very well personally, as well as our band and Jimmy's drumming
talent and style. These friends have introduced us to several amazing
drummers. We have decided to take one of them out starting in January.
He will not be a member of a7x. He will be someone you and we are
getting to know. Perhaps this drummer will be a fit. Perhaps not. One
thing is for sure. Over time we will find someone who helps us continue
our quest to make the music we love for the fans we love.
Mike and the band agree that can't be him. Why? Long before there was
an Avenged Sevenfold, there were members of this band who looked up to
Mike and, in Jimmy's case, learned a lot from watching Mike play. He is a
brilliant writer, producer and of course drummer. Because of that, the
world and we would always see it as Avenged Sevenfold with Mike Portnoy.
We take a lot of pride in A7X being about something greater then any
individuals. Its about the music, the fans and the friends and family
we have as well as continuing our best friends legacy.
Please give whoever we try your love and support....and the benefit
of the doubt. They won't be Jimmy. Who could be? But he will be
himself, with his own special talents and creativity. And that's all we
could ever look for.

"Nightmare". We wanna thank you all for the overwhelming support
worldwide and are excited to embark on the second half of the touring
cycle. We realize that playing UPROAR for a second year has some
advantages and some disadvantages. We don't want people to feel they are
seeing the same show as last year. We are concerned that people may
feel we are going to give them the same setlist, production, merch, etc.
etc. We have put our heads together to try and find a solution to
these concerns. Not only are we gonna do a brand new stage show with
all new production, but we are going to let you decide what songs we are
gonna play.
Here is how it's gonna work:
- Vote for the 10 Avenged Sevenfold songs that you want us to play on the UPROAR Tour.
- We will take the 20 songs with the most votes and rotate them in
and out of the setlist every night. We literally are not going to know
what we are playing until just before the shows take place. This way
some people will see songs they never thought they would hear live and
others will hear an entirely different set of songs.

RockstarUPROAR, Avenged Sevenfold, & THE ROCK 106.9 WCCC teamed
up in Hartford, CT to raise $11,000 in recognition of the 10th
anniversary of 9/11. Checks were presented to both the National Fallen
Firefighters Foundation and the National Law Enforcement Officers
Memorial Fund onstage at the September 11 UPROAR show. You can view the

Avenged Sevenfold will hit the road for their “Buried Alive” tour,
which launches in Ft. Meyers, FL, on November 23rd. VIP bundles will be
available for all tour dates on September 20th. Tickets for all shows go
on sale Friday, September 23rd, except for shows in Minneapolis and
Yakima, WA, which go on sale Saturday, September 24th.

Avenged Sevenfold announced today that they will be returning to the
Far and Middle East beginning April 16th in Tokyo, Japan, for a tour
that will culminate in a special show in Dubai, UAE on May 4th.
“We are excited to go back to the Far and Middle East,” said Avenged
Sevenfold front man M. Shadows. "We played to some of the most amazing
crowds when we toured the album there, and we can't wait to bring our
live show back to our friends in those regions.”
Long time friends Metallica have asked Avenged Sevenfold to perform
at the first ever Orion Music + More at Bader Field in Atlantic City,
NJ, on June 24th. M. Shadows had this to say: "We really hadn't
planned to play the United States in 2012. But after Lars called to
describe their plans for Orion and asked us to join them, we decided
there's no way we would miss it." The band toured with Metallica in
2006 as part of Metallica’s “Escape From The Studio Tour” and that year
M. Shadows and Metallica’s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich were featured
together on the cover of Revolver Magazine. 3 years later, Avenged
Sevenfold toured with Metallica on their “World Magnetic” tour.
In July 2010, Avenged Sevenfold released their fifth studio album
Nightmare, which earned the band its highest-ever debut on the Billboard
album chart when it bowed at No. 1 and topped the Rock, Hard Rock, and
Digital charts. It has been certified gold by the RIAA and has scanned
upwards of 660,000 units. The album spawned three hit singles – the
gold-certified singles “Nightmare” and “Welcome To The Family,” and “So
Far Away” – each of which peaked at Number 1 on the Media Base Active
Rock chart. The title track was the most-played current song at Media
Base Active Rock for 2010. Avenged Sevenfold have toured incessantly
on their “Buried Alive” and “Welcome to the Family” tours selling out
arenas around the world. They also headlined the Uproar Tour and the
first annual Carolina Rebellion Festival in 2011 where the band played
to a sold-out crowd of over 30,000 fans. The band also toured Iraq with
the USO and has played to nearly 1,000,000 people in the last two
years. Their breakout album City of Evil and the Live In The LBC DVD
have both been certified platinum and the band’s self-titled album has
been certified gold.
